Ramallah – For those of us at Inter Campus, the opening of a new centre has always been a moment of profound joy, marking the successful conclusion of a journey of research, meetings, and comparative studies whose positive outcomes provide the groundwork on which to build the project’s launch. In this instance, establishing a new cell in Palestine is an objective we have pursued for a long time, carrying significant symbolic value in a territory where conflict and hardship are unfortunately ever-present, fluctuating in intensity.
We arrived at the pitch on Friday afternoon at 3 pm, after passing through the Israeli checkpoint; waiting for us, despite the cold wind and rain (Ramallah sits at 770 meters above sea level), were about forty children of all ages, accompanied by local coach Ahmad. The enthusiasm of everyone present was palpable, from the children running to their parents on the sidelines, to the younger siblings and the coaches, all united by the shared desire to let the children play as they wore the Nerazzurri colours for the first time—a symbol of belonging to a new family!
