MILAN – A lovely crisp yet sunny September afternoon, a reminder that autumn has begun and that it is a wonderful season for rediscovering the value of playing outdoors.
With the inauguration of the fourth accessible playground at the Giardini Ezio Lucarelli in Zone 3, Inter Campus coaches brought the event to life by engaging the children present at the celebration, leading them onto the pitch to play football while respecting all safety measures, including temperature checks and hand sanitization.
After the presentation and the symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony with city authorities, the children, together with their parents, were involved in a series of stories, performances, theatrical games, and sensory experiences. This was an important occasion marking the reclaiming of the unique and magical time of outdoor play, an element that contributes to the growth process and psychomotor development of children.
In addition to creating spaces together with the City of Milan, the ‘Gioco al Centro: playgrounds for all children’ project aims to make public parks throughout the city’s nine Zones accessible through areas equipped with inclusive rides and games, while promoting a culture of respect for disability; the project is linked to educational and awareness-raising activities in schools and a program of recreational initiatives in the new play area aimed at strengthening local solidarity networks.
Thanks to the collaboration with the Campo Teatrale association, which organized the day and will promote the activities following until June 2022, theater workshops will be launched in the Zone’s schools, and the park will be brought to life with a rich program of inclusive performances and experiential events.
