Inter Campus Venezuela and the Role of the Local Community

The San Isidro community has become like a family to the Inter Campus staff. Each visit from the delegation represents an important moment for dialogue, exchange, and interaction, but above all, it provides support for the educational journey of the many young people of various ages who have been part of the program since it opened in 2011.

While the training sessions are the heart of the week in Venezuela, the meetings with families are perhaps the aspect that adds the most depth to the educational outreach. Together, they discuss the children’s behavior, their school progress, their growth stages, and the daily dangers surrounding them. More than just a sports education program, Inter Campus is a point of reference for entire generations—direct and practical for the children who are integral members of the various teams, and indirect for the adults who find constant support in raising their children and help during difficult times.

Between training sessions, many parents ask to talk about their children, building an increasingly solid bond of trust and educational guidance with both the local coaches and the so-called “Italo-Venezuelans” arriving from Italy. Indeed, after so many years, the connection with local traditions has become deeper, making the programs more effective. From soccer to school to family, it is a global involvement to stay closer to the needs of Venezuelan children.
