JAVIER ZANETTI IN THE UN CIRCLE OF SUPPORTERS

NEW YORK – The Circle of Supporters is not merely a group of people who believe in a sustainable future: it comprises women and men chosen by the United Nations as valid representatives of the values of respect, equity, and brotherhood included in the UN 2030 Agenda.

A high-profile Circle of Supporters has signed up to help create momentum to accelerate progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The supporters come from different backgrounds, but what they have in common is the genuine commitment with which they have interpreted their roles, dedicating themselves to others through their skills. These are testimonials who go beyond media promotion, personally committing themselves to daily actions.

“It is an honor to be part of the Circle of Supporters and to promote the Sustainable Development Goals together with so many personalities from the world of culture and entertainment. We are all called to act responsibly, being an example for others with concrete actions.”

Javier Zanetti, Inter Vice President

Javier Zanetti, Vice-President of Inter and Ambassador of Inter Campus, will witness how sport and football can be strong promoters of development and dialogue, protecting Human Rights and the Rights of the Child.

2023 marks the halfway point towards the achievement of the SDGs, the UN Sustainable Development Goals established in 2015. The road is long, but together nothing is impossible.

“The 17 Sustainable Development Goals adopted by world leaders in 2015 provided a roadmap for a better future for people and planet. But as we approach the midpoint ahead of 2030, the world is not on track to achieve them. The midpoint is a perfect time to push for renewed global ambition and action for the Sustainable Development Goals. With the support of the Circle of Supporters, which includes a football legend like Javier Zanetti, we can galvanize global public not only to take individual actions on the SDGs, but also to impress upon decision-makers the urgency to act immediately.”
