SLATINA – The annual Inter Campus Pirelli tournament took place in the small town of Curtisoara over the weekend. These were two days of celebration and integration within the Inter Campus project at the Slatina hub in Romania, where the educational programme involves around a hundred young participants, many of whom are of Roma ethnicity.

Davide Meda, CEO of Pirelli Romania, inaugurated the tournament with a ceremonial kick-off. The annual event involved 180 children on the Curtisoara pitch, located a few miles from Slatina and rented specifically for the occasion.

Also present were many business executives, officials from local institutions, and Giovanni Pasculli, representing the local partner Comunità Nuova. Three local coaches, under the supervision of Inter Campus coach Davide Lubes and logistics manager Christian Valerio, were assisted by a dozen young volunteers who had left the project due to age limits; together, they managed 16 teams on the field, ten of which were from Inter Campus and six of which were guest teams.

The weekend of sport and fun was rounded off with the finals and a subsequent awards ceremony. Thanks to Pirelli for this fantastic initiative!
