On 23 August 2013, the UN General Assembly decided to proclaim 6 April as the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace. The UN, with this commemoration, recognizes the power of Sport in leading social change, community development, and promoting peace and understanding.
Sport as an instrument of peace and how it links disparate peoples. It is celebrated annually worldwide, in memory of the start date of the first Olympic Games of the modern era, held in Athens in 1896.
Today, as the difficulties facing children worldwide have become even more acute, it is even more important to use Sport as an extraordinary means of sharing, play, growth, and education, and that is exactly what Inter Campus has done over the past year and will continue to do, looking to the future with the ambitious eyes of this young girl from the Zapatista community!
